Bed Bug Infestation

Bed bugs are becoming popular household guests throughout the entire planet. They are more prevalent in tropical and moderate climate areas, but on account of so many people traveling these days, bed bugs are all over the map. To impede or at best decrease the extent that these creatures spread and infest our homes, bed bugs have to be properly controlled or the consequences are unimaginable.

Bed bugs come from the family of cimicidae which include other pests that suck blood from birds, bats and humans. Bed bugs normally dine at night and early hours of the morning. It is because of these late night feedings that investigative work is required to find these creatures that crave our blood. In addition to that, bed bugs are very small and have smooth flat bodies. This allows them to take cover in every nook and cranny, including the seams in your mattress.

To verify their existence, an all-encompassing investigation is required. No one wants to admit that they have or have had bed bugs in their home. It is very embarrassing and many feel that others will think that they are unclean or have a dirty home. Cleanliness has little to do with being a victim of bed bug infestations. They come from all walks of life. College dorms, five star hotels, cruise ships and Aunt Bea’s house are just to name a few.

Bed bugs can cause mental distress as well as physical irritation after they had a night of feeding, sucking the blood from you and family members alike. These bites are just as itchy as mosquito bites and if you constantly scratch them scarring can occur. You can apply over the counter creams to relieve the itching, but what can you do to get rid of bed bugs?

If you are experiencing a bed bug infestation in your home, it is critical that you choose an appropriate treatment technique designed to kill these awful insects. The following are three techniques that can be utilized to destroy bed bugs. Pesticides containing harsh chemicals can be used to treat your bed bug problem, but just as with DDT, bed buds have established immunity to some of these chemically derived pesticides. So, after spending money on chemical bed bug sprays, there is still a very good chance that bed bugs are lurking in some corner of your house. Chemical products are toxic and have been linked with certain cancers and lung diseases. One alternative to using harsh chemicals is to vacuum along with using a steamer. Vacuuming by itself is not effective and you won’t totally be rid of these blood sucking pests. Steaming can be somewhat effective if you invest in a quality high priced steamer. Vacuuming and steaming should be done in conjunction with an all natural pesticide product to totally annihilate a bed bug infestation.

That leads us to the most logical course of action, which is to use a product with all natural ingredients to eliminate your bed bug problem. Products containing ingredients like diatomaceous earth and sodium lauryl sulfate are very effective in killing bed bugs and are safe for you and the environment. A bed bug invasion can be controlled and you can get back to enjoying life, free of bed bugs.
