Cleaning a bathroom is a very basic household chore, something we do on a weekly basis. Importantly enough, without weekly cleaning, scum, mold and mildew will accumulate in crack and crevasses causing possible damage and costly repairs. Bathroom odors are a direct result of spores; mold and mildew build up in dark and damp areas of the bathroom. Bathrooms produce the ideal breeding ground and opportunity for mold, mildew and fungi to thrive causing bathroom odor, smells not to mention to possibility of Toxic Black Mold growth.

When cleaning a bathroom the bathroom mats, shower curtain, towels, razors and shampoo bottles should be removed and washed removing mold, mildew and toxic scum from the items. Begin by giving the bathroom a good rinse down wetting all surfaces. Removing the scum, mold and mildew is the most important part of the cleaning process. There are all natural toilet bowl products out there that will perform just fine for you with a little added elbow grease. Remember, stay away from the antibacterial products because they will harm your septic tank drain field system. Disinfectant wipes can be safely used in cleaning your bathroom, provided they are thrown in the waste paper basket and not down the sink or flushed down the toilets.

Homemade glass cleaners are always an option and typically cheaper that using the traditional national brand products found in the local food store. One recipe example is to take (1) cup of rubbing alcohol, (1) cup of tap water and (1) teaspoon of vinegar. This can be used to clean and shine other fixtures in your home.

Sweep and mop all areas disinfecting the floor where mold, mildew and athletes foot thrive. Children and adults that are exposed to gyms, locker rooms and pool areas can contract athletes and foot ringworm just to name a few.
