Treatment Guide

Please refer to the following guidelines for treatment recommendations. Our easy to use chart will help you accurately diagnose and remedy your problem since different situations require various types of treatment. Please read thoroughly and note the complete treatment descriptions at the bottom of the page. Lakes, ponds and lagoon conditions can easily be controlled when properly treated and maintained on a regular basis.

Current Water Condition
Little or No Accumulation
Suggested Treatment: 3 to 5 Pounds of NT-MAX per Surface Acre coverage area. Treatment Instructions: Toss water-soluble packs into random locations. For shoreline treatment, dilute with water and distribute evenly along shoreline. Follow up with 1 to 2 pounds per acre monthly as maintenance.
Mild to Moderate Accumulation
Suggested Treatment:  10 Pounds of NT-MAX per Surface Acre coverage area. Treatment Instructions: Begin with "Regular Shock" then follow up with 1 to 2 pounds per surface acre as a weekly maintenance. Cut treatment to 1 pound monthly once conditions are reduced.
Moderate to Heavy Accumulation
Suggested Treatment: 40 Pounds of NT-MAX per Surface Acre coverage area. Treatment Instructions: Start with "Super Shock"  then follow up with 1 to 2 pounds pound per acre as a weekly maintenance. Cut treatment to 1 to 2 pounds monthly once infestation is reduced.
Regular Shock and Super Shock Instructions and Application Guidelines:
By "Shocking" the water, a maximum concentrated amount of powerful bacterial enzymes are dispersed throughout the entire system in order to quickly break down buildup at a much more aggressive rate than with a maintenance treatment.

Shock Treatments:

Regular Shock: Week1: Begin by tossing 3 pounds of water-soluble packs into various locations. For shoreline treatments, mix roughly 3 pounds per surface acre with 5 gallons lake or pond water and distribute evenly around shoreline areas. The remaining 2 pounds of NT-MAX product should be tossed into the target zone or evenly distributed across the shoreline surface area. Week2: Repeat "week1". Week3: Repeat "week1" treatment and maintain monthly with 1 to 2 pounds per acre coverage area until water temperature drops below 50 degrees. NT-MAX packets can be diluted with lake or pond water, slowly "pouring as you go" for easy distribution or 'tossed out' at to various areas.

Super Shock: Week1: Begin by tossing 8 pounds of water-soluble packs into various locations. Fro shoreline treatments, mix roughly 8 pounds per surface acre with 20 gallons lake or pond water and distribute evenly around shoreline areas. The remaining 2 pounds of NT-MAX product should be tossed into the target zone or evenly distributed across the shoreline surface area. Week2: Repeat "week1". Week3: Repeat "week1". Week4: Repeat "week1" treatment and maintain monthly with 1 to 2 pounds per acre coverage area until water temperature drops below 50 degrees. NT-MAX powder can be diluted with lake or pond water, slowly "pouring as you go" for easy distribution or 'tossed out' evenly to various areas.

*Please Note: NT-MAX Digests dead Algae and Duckweed and should be diluted with pond or lake water only. Chlorine in tap water can affect the bacterial strains and inhibit digestion. Any accessible shoreline leaves and twigs should be removed prior to treatment. Heavier NT-MAX/Water dilution is recommended to assure thorough coverage. It is better to over-dilute and re-treat areas than to under treat your full surface area.
