Asthma, Allergies and Mold

Every year environmental companies inspect buildings, homes, and apartments to check for harmful organisms like mold. There are many types of molds as well as many types of reactions people have to them. It is not known how much mold it actually takes to make you sick. That again, is because everyone reacts to mold differently. A friend of mine has a constant runny nose and a cough and was finally diagnosed with asthma. After allergy testing he was told he was allergic to one thing only – mold. However, he got a very extreme reaction to it. On the other hand, his sister was allergic to many different things, including mold and only had a slight reaction to the mold itself. So never underestimate mold; reactions range from mild to severe.

Mold is microbial development. What that is, is what is called a mycotoxin releaser? It is microbial development at the end of the cycle. You will know because it is the awful musty odor you smell and associate with mold after you have had water in your basement or you are the victim of a flood. This is something that must be taken seriously and treated as soon as possible. Even people without allergies and asthma can be greatly affected by this organism. If your immune system is compromised at all, you can become very ill. The very young and very old are especially at risk for things like bronchitis and pneumonia.

A very effective way to eliminate mold from your home is by using natural products containing safe ingredients. You and other family members will not have to smell any harsh odors that some chemical products release into the air. Natural products won’t harm you and are good for the environment. The sooner you act to resolve a mold problem, the greater your chances of eliminating mold without costly repairs to your home.
