Identify a Bed Bug Rash
Bed bugs are not the only insects that may bite your during the night. Your
bites may be attributed to a spider. So, how do you know if the bites you have
are from bed bugs? First, you wouldn’t have just one bite mark on your arm and
another on your leg; bed bugs bite along a line following the path of one of
your blood vessels. To destroy these horrible insects you need to find out if
they are hiding in your mattress, couches and or walls. In addition to that it
is necessary to know what a bed bug rash looks like. In some cases there are no
noticeable marks to indicate that a bed bug has been feasting.
Bites from bed bugs will not be far apart, they will be adjacent to one another
in different areas of your body. For example, you may wake up with a swollen red
line across your back, but after a closer look you would see that the line is
really a series of several little bumps. If you never heard of bed bugs, you
wouldn’t have a clue as to what may have caused these swollen bumps.
The thought of bed bugs infesting your home is quite disturbing. As far as the
rash goes, it looks worse than it really is. You will experience intense itching
and the infected area may be sensitive. The rash can become infected if you
constantly scratch at it. If this happens call your doctor immediately. To ease
the discomfort associated with a bed rash, rub hydrocortisone cream on your skin
along with some calming calamine lotion. With any luck, the rash will be gone in
about a week.
How do you kill bed bugs? Be safe and steer clear of poisonous chemical
pesticides. All natural products are available and can effectively wipe out
entire bed bug populations. Diatomaceous earth is a stellar choice if you choose
to take the “green” approach for bed bug eradication. It slashes through their
exoskeletons causing them to dehydrate and perish. Products containing sodium
lauryl sulfate are extremely effective against bed bugs acting as a contact
spray.
Check back to this web site from time to time for any updated information
related to bed bugs and the rebound they have made in a very short period of
time. Remember, identifying the problem immediately is key for a successful
eradication of bed bugs.
